Knife-wielding man attempts robbery in Georgetown

Halton Regional Police are investigating an attempted robbery that took place in Georgetown over the weekend.

On July 21 around 10:15 p.m., police say a male victim was walking toward his car outside the Quik-Pik convenience store on Guelph Street when he was approached by a man holding a knife.

“The suspect demanded the victim’s wallet and phone,” said Halton Regional Police media relations officer Const. Ryan Anderson. “The victim said no and got in their car and drove away.”

No physical injuries were reported.

Police say the victim later contacted them to report the incident, however the suspect was no longer at the scene.

The suspect is described as a white male with dark brown, shoulder length hair and a dark brown moustache.

No arrests have been made yet and the investigation is ongoing.
