A Milton man has been arrested and charged following an online child sexual exploitation investigation by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).

On Aug. 1, the OPP Child Sexual Exploitation Unit, Digital Forensics Unit and Mississauga detachment members executed a search warrant in Milton and seized a quantity of electronic devices.

As a result of this investigation, 41-year-old John Frederick Anderson was arrested and charged with two counts of luring a child and one count of making sexually explicit material available to a child.

The accused remains in custody following a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear on Aug. 3 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Milton.

"The OPP will continue to aggressively identify and pursue individuals who use technology to exploit children," police said in a press release. "Parents are reminded to take a proactive approach to help protect their children from online sexual exploitation by speaking with their children regarding Internet safety."
