EDITOR'S NOTE: The accused person facing charges is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.

Investigators from the Peel Regional Police Special Victims Unit have arrested a 33-year-old Milton man in relation to an alleged sexual assault that occurred in Mississauga.

Earlier this month, police say the victim met with the man who works as a real estate agent to conduct a meeting in the area of Hurontario Street and Eglinton Avenue West in Mississauga.

According to police, it’s alleged the man sexually assaulted the victim during the meeting.

Investigators have arrested and charged Rony Lazar with one count of sexual assault.

He will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton in September.

“The accused currently works as a real estate agent and provides career and investment counselling for prospective realtors in the Mississauga area,” police said in a press release.

“The investigation is ongoing, and investigators believe there may be additional victims.”
