Police apprehend wanted federal offender known to frequent Halton

43-year-old is serving a four-year, eight-month sentence for variety of offences

Police say a wanted federal offender who is known to frequent the Halton area has been apprehended near Brantford.

The Ontario Provincial Police say Trevor Charlton, 43, went unlawfully at large on Nov. 9.

Charlton was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for breaching his statutory release.

Police said earlier this week he was known to frequent the Greater Toronto area, Hamilton and Halton Region.

He was being sought by the Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (ROPE) Squad, who located and arrested him in Paris, Ont., police said today in a news release. 

Charlton is serving a four year, eight month and 13-day sentence for: 

  • Possession Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order
  • Fail to Comply with Order - Bound to Comply
  • Fail to Comply with Order - At Large
  • Utter Threats to cause Death/Harm 

The ROPE Squad thanked the public and media for their assistance in the investigation.
