Crime Stoppers of Halton is hosting its next Shred Event fundraiser Sept. 30.

The charity has partnered with Blue-Pencil Information Management, which will have a mobile unit on site at Halton Regional Police headquarters in Oakville throughout the day. Residents looking to dispose of unwanted personal or business papers can shred them securely - and support a good cause at the same time.

Volunteers will help unload vehicles; those who drop off items can watch as the secure mobile unit shreds their documents.

Registration is not required.

There is no set cost for the service; the suggested donation is $20 per box. All contributions support Crime Stoppers programming, including safety and awareness initiatives, collecting anonymous tips and attending events throughout the region.

The Sept. 30 event will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Halton Regional Police Service headquarters, 2485 North Service Rd. W., Oakville. For more info, visit the Crime Stoppers of Halton website.
