Deputy Chief Martin Mills echoed the comments, noting that: “Being a firefighter requires dedication and commitment. Regardless of who you are or where you come from, being passionate about this work is what will bring you success. I’m very hopeful we will get a terrific response to our call out for recruits.”

Among the eligibility criteria, potential applicants should live within six kilometres of the Acton fire station and have a Grade 12 diploma or the educational equivalent. Additional information is available in the 2024 Part-time Career Guide posted on the Town’s website.
